SHARE Center Session

The 3-hour “CHIA & CAHTA Workshop” is a comprehensive introduction to the two most popular analytics-related certifications offered by hotel and tourism schools in partnership with the STR SHARE Center.  The Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) is celebrating a 10-year anniversary and has been obtained by over 40,000 students, professors, and industry professionals.  The newer Certification in Advanced Hotel and Tourism Analytics (CAHTA) has been obtained by thousands of students since its’ launch in 2020.  We will provide detail on objectives, content outlines, case scenarios, quizzes, exams, and certification requirements for students and professors.  We will review some of the content, especially challenging areas, and demonstrate application exercises that you can use.  We will explain how instructors are offering the CHIA and the CAHTA in the classroom and we will hear from several professors who are currently presenting the training.  We will talk about the benefits to students, show some of the sample projects they complete, and share some of the testimonials we receive.

Prior to the workshop, we will provide participants comprehensive outlines, the full PowerPoints, and the videos for each training program.  If you have time, you are welcome to participate in the training on your own in preparation for the workshop.  You are also invited to attend a free virtual public workshop starting in January where the content will be presented by an STR instructor.  You will have access to obtain the certification exams.

This workshop is free.  If you are interested in participating, we ask that you make a definite commitment to attend the full 3-hour session.  Space is limited and we will cap the amount when we reach the maximum number, so if you register and do not attend, you will be hurting someone else.  To register, please email sharecenter@str.com and provide your name, school, and email.  PhD students please provide the name of your faculty advisor.
